Carrie Michele Myers

Carrie became a freelance writer 12 years ago after her fourth son was born, mostly as a challenge to see if she could get published. Never did she imagine she could make a living writing. Since then, she’s been published in many publications, both consumer and professional, including Shape, Fitness, Fit Pregnancy, Cooking Light, Health, Alternative Medicine, Muscle & Fitness HERS, and Energy for Women, for whom she was a contributing editor and the “Body Shoppe” columnist. She was also the newsletter editor of the award-winning television show, Real Savvy Moms, for three years. Currently, Carrie is the writer for IBM’s online employee wellness program. She also frequently writes for IDEA and ACE, fitness industry trade publications, through which she has garnered respect as a fitness authority, and was recently chosen to write the 25th anniversary piece for ACE. Other writers frequently turn to Carrie as a fitness expert for their own articles, which has resulted in her being quoted in several magazines, including Self, Cooking Light, Better Homes and Gardens, Successful Living, and Family Fun.

As a single mom of four sons and a background that includes an eating disorder, Carrie relates to the average woman struggling to get through each day. Her goal: to not just survive, but to thrive, to live up to her potential, not just the status quo, and to find something to celebrate each day…and to teach others to do the same.
